Immutable backup and S3-compatible storage, hosted in Spain
Walhalla S3 is an object storage service with an Amazon S3-compatible interface, operated entirely in our data centre in Castellón. It serves as a backup repository, long-term archive, immutable storage and backend for any application that already uses the S3 protocol.
1The objects
What is object storage?
Object storage keeps data as independent units, called objects, each with its own identifier and metadata, inside containers called buckets. Unlike a file system, it has no folder hierarchy and no practical growth limit, and it is accessed over HTTPS through an API. The Amazon S3 API is the de facto standard, and most backup and archiving tools support it.
2Immutability
How does it work as an immutable backup repository for Veeam?
Walhalla S3 supports Versioning and Object Locking. With the lock enabled, protected objects cannot be modified or deleted during the retention period, not even by the customer or by Walhalla. This is the mechanism backup solutions require to withstand ransomware that tries to encrypt or delete the backups.
The service has been tested with Veeam Backup & Replication as an immutable capacity repository.
Before enabling immutability, it is worth sizing the retention carefully: a locked object takes up space, and is billed, until its retention expires. Our technical team reviews the policy with you before go-live.
No folders: every object sits at the same level within the bucket and is located by its key. Choose one to see what it is made of.

Technical features
Compatible with the Amazon S3 API, including Multipart Upload, Versioning and Object Locking.
HTTPS endpoint with SSL certificate, access keys per customer and granular access control.
Encryption of all storage with AES-256, equivalent to SSE-S3.
Unlimited buckets and objects of any size.
100 Mbps shared as standard, expandable, with unlimited transfers at no extra cost.
Compatible with Veeam Backup & Replication, Cyberduck, CloudBerry, Mountain Duck and most S3 clients.
Use cases
Backup repository, with the option of configuring it as immutable storage.
Long-term archive with guaranteed retention through Object Locking.
Storage for web and mobile applications that already use the S3 interface, without rewriting code.
Exchange of large data volumes with credentials and permissions per bucket.
Contracting and billing
The billing unit is 1 TB. If usage exceeds the allocated space, the service is not cut off: the next TB is allocated and billed. A usage cap and alerts can be configured on request. Committed availability is 99.000% per month.
To sign up, all you need is a technical contact email, the space in TB and the billing details. The price is published in the quote builder on the partner portal.

Monthly availability committed in the service level agreement
Frequently asked questions
Does Walhalla back up what I store in S3?
No. The platform is redundant and protects against infrastructure failures, but not against deletion or data corruption on your side. To protect yourself against accidental or malicious deletion, enable Versioning and Object Locking.
Is upload or download traffic charged?
No. Transfers are unlimited and included in the price. The practical limit is the contracted bandwidth.
Where is my data?
In our data centre in Castellón, Spain. It never leaves the European Economic Area.
Can Walhalla read my objects?
No. Walhalla does not access the stored content when providing the service.
Shall we talk about your project?
Tell us your name, company and phone number, what you will use the storage for and how many TB you estimate. A member of our sales team will get back to you.
