Data protection policy
How we protect data in our services and in the Castellón data centre.
Your data stays in Spain
All of Walhalla’s infrastructure is on Spanish soil, in its own data centre in Castellón, under Spanish and European law. No international data transfers outside the European Economic Area are made to provide the Colocation service.
Colocation: we do not access your systems
In the Colocation service, Walhalla never accesses the content of the systems hosted in the customer’s racks. If any service involved accessing personal data for which the customer is the controller, both parties first sign the data processing agreement required by Article 28 of the GDPR.
Cloud services: the customer decides, Walhalla safeguards
When a customer stores personal data in Walhalla Cloud, VMware Cloud or Cloud Backup, the customer is the data controller and Walhalla acts as processor: it processes that data only to provide the service and in accordance with the customer’s instructions.
Certified security
Walhalla holds certification of conformity with Spain’s National Security Framework (ENS) in the high category and ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 20000-1 and ISO 50001 certifications, all issued by AENOR. Data centre access and CCTV
To protect the facilities, Walhalla processes, as controller, some data of the people who access the data centre:
- Access control. Identification data is used only to guarantee physical security, on the basis of the legitimate interest in protecting people and property. We do not keep a copy of the identity document.
- CCTV. It is limited to the areas necessary for security, with information signs, in accordance with Article 22 of the LOPDGDD (Spanish Organic Law 3/2018). Images are deleted within a maximum of one month, unless they must be kept to provide evidence of acts against people or property.
When the service ends
When a Colocation customer removes its equipment, Walhalla securely deletes the associated data and records once the process is complete.
